Brian Zator presents 2013 Texas All-State Audition Tutorials

Brian ZatorThe All-State audition process for high school winds and percussion students leads ultimately to qualification for one of seven All-State Bands that perform at the annual TMEA Clinic/Convention: ATSSB Jazz Ensemble, ATSSB Concert Band, ATSSB Symphonic Band, TMEA Jazz Ensemble, 4A Symphonic Band, 5A Concert Band, and 5A Symphonic Band.

Innovative Percussion artist, Dr. Brian Zator has compiled a series of video clips that outlines preparation techniques of the Texas All-State audition materials. Zator is the Director of Percussion and Associate Professor of Music at Texas A&M University-Commerce.  

















First, Dr. Brian Zator presents a tutorial on this year's 2-mallet audition piece from Morris Goldenberg's Modern School for Xylophone, Marimba, and Vibraphone, "Etude V", measures 1-39.
