Víctor Pablo (García-Gaetán) is a Puerto Rican born and raised musician, composer, percussionist, drummer, producer, and educator based in Brooklyn, NY. With a wide gamma of sounds and languages from folklore to contemporary at his disposal, VP’s been blessed to have music take him wondrous places with stellar artists such as Arturo O’Farrill, Miguel Zenón, Angélica Negrón, Conrad Tao, Imani Winds, St. Luke’s Orchestra, Pleneros de la 21, Broadway (currently percussionist for Alicia Keys’s Hell’s Kitchen), Fernando Garcia, Kali Rodriguez-Peña, Adam O’Farrill, Xito Lovell, Nestor Torres and many more. He can be heard on film soundtracks like In The Heights, VIVO, and seen in series like Mozart in the Jungle, and more.
He also produces and composes music for theater, short films, chamber ensembles, strings, pop, salsa, and jazz. In 2018 he co-founded the NYC-based timba band People of Earth (PoE), for which he composes and plays drums. In 2022 (PoE) premiered Dafnis Prieto’s Tentación: Concerto for TImba Band and String Orchestra as soloists with the Louisville Orchestra under the direction of Teddy Abrams. They also performed it with the LA Philharmonic, the Britt Festival Orchestra, and the New World Symphony that same year. In 2024, VP organized the collective Plena del Puente - an unplugged Puerto Rican plena quartet -, and founded the Afro-Puerto Rican fusion band El Vapor de Brooklyn.
Victor Pablo earned his Bachelor and Master Degrees in Orchestral Percussion from Temple University, and is an alumnus of the Escuela Libre de Música de San Juan.
