Tommy Roam is a lifelong percussion enthusiast from St. Charles, Missouri. He has almost 15 years of teaching experience in the classroom and on the field, with a focus on both concert and athletic percussion ensemble. Tommy is also a designer for the marching arts, having experience creating both visually and musically for ensembles across the world. 

Originally a drumset player, Tommy has nearly two decades of playing experience on almost every percussion instrument. He marched bass drum with the Glassmen in 2011, and consecutive seasons with Bluecoats and Rhythm X from 2012 to 2015. Tommy has served on teaching and design staff with many different programs such as Freedom Percussion, Rhythm X, ConneXus, and Carolina Crown. He is currently on percussion staff with Bluecoats and has been with the program for a decade or more. 

Since 2017, Tommy serves as the percussion director for Kettering Fairmont HS in Dayton OH, and is an assistant director to the marching band. He lives with his wife and two bulldogs, and tries to call himself a “home chef.” Tommy spent most of his formative years playing with IP sticks and mallets, and is thrilled to be joining the team!
