TJ’s music journey started at the early age of 4 years old when he began playing the drums. He eventually found his niche in the drumline and drum corps community, and was named a US Army All American for drumline in high school, before eventually marching and working with multiple groups in DCI/DCA. 

TJ continued his education at SUNY Fredonia, where he earned his B.S. in Sound Recording Technology and a B.A. in Percussion. After college, TJ joined the SubCat Studios team in 2014 as an intern before eventually being named the Studio Manager in 2017. He immersed himself into the Central New York music scene, becoming a well-known live sound engineer in many of the area’s leading venues. 

TJ has been teaching percussion with the East Syracuse-Minoa Marching Arts programs since 2016 where he currently has the role percussion director for the Marching Band and Winter Drumline; helping to bring multiple state championships to the school for marching band and winter drumline. In addition to teaching percussion, he also teaches audio and music production classes for Syracuse University. To this day, he still plays percussion with multiple groups across all music genres. He currently resides in Syracuse, NY with his wife Carrie and dog Benny.
