Mr. Ryan F. Wright has been the Director of Bands at South Lake High School, in Groveland, Florida, since July 2008. His duties include conducting the Screaming Eagle Regiment, Wind Symphony, Symphonic Band, Jazz Ensemble, Jazz Orchestra, Jazz Combo, and Percussion Ensemble. Mr. Wright holds a Master of Science in Music Education from Troy University in Troy, Alabama. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida and an Associates Degree in Liberal Arts from the College of Central Florida. He has studied percussion under Beth Gottlieb, Danny Gottlieb, and Dr. Andy Harnsberger. His professional experience includes instructing, composing, arranging, and designing for more than twenty schools throughout Florida, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Georgia. Mr. Wright has played with Southern Winds in Deland, Florida, and the Hernando Symphony Orchestra in Spring Hill, Florida. He has worked with Brahma Percussion, Riptide Percussion, Spitfire Percussion, and Magic of Orlando Drum and Bugle Corps. His professional affiliations include Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society, Percussive Arts Society, National Association for Music Education, Tri-M Music Honor Society, Florida Music Educators Association, and Florida Bandmasters Association. Mr. Wright is an educator/endorser for Innovative Percussion, Inc. Mr. Wright is also a member of the Gateway Church music team, where he plays piano, bass, and drums. He resides in Clermont, Florida with his wife, Gina, and his two sons, Aidan and Lucah.
