Ryan Reed is a percussion specialist from the Northeast Ohio area. He is currently the Director of Percussion at New Philadelphia High School and Carrollton High School. His duties included teaching lessons in both districts, instructing and arranging for both marching bands, directing the Steel Band in Carrollton and directing the WGI concert ensemble in New Philadelphia. Additionally, Ryan is a front ensemble instructor with WGI Independent World Finalist, Matrix, and is a front ensemble instructor for the organizations Open Class group, Matrix Open. Previously, Ryan has been on staff with Empire Statesmen Drum and Bugle Corps (2009), Notre Dame Indoor Percussion Ensemble (2011, 2012), Glassmen Drum and Bugle Corps (2012), Capital City Percussion (2013-2015) and Phantom Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps (2015). 

Ryan received a B.M. in Music Education from Kent State University where he studied percussion with Ted Rounds. While at Kent, Ryan performed with multiple chamber and large ensembles in addition to solo performances. As a performer in the marching arts, Ryan was a front ensemble member of Matrix Percussion from 2006-2008, Empire Statesmen Drum and Bugle Corps in 2007 and 2009, and the Glassmen Drum and Bugle Corps in 2008. 

In addition to teaching, Ryan has been a percussion arranger and designer since 2006. Currently, he is the front ensemble arranger for the Skyliners’ Drum and Bugle Corps. He also serves as a designer/arranger for Downbeat Percussion, a percussion entertainment and design company based out of Syracuse, New York, and for Ferguson Design Solutions, a design company based out of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. Ryan is an endorser for Dynasty Percussion and Innovative Percussion.
