Ryan Pride is currently the Assistant Director of Bands and Percussion Director for Katy High School in Katy, TX and a front ensemble instructor for Phantom Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps. Originally from Pflugerville, TX. Ryan holds a Bachelors in Music Education from Texas State University, where he performed in the Texas State Wind Ensemble, Texas State Percussion Ensemble, Texas State Panorama Steel Drum band, and several smaller ensembles. During his time in school, Ryan worked with numerous programs, including Dripping Springs High School, San Marcos High School, Hendrickson High School, and the WGI line Austin Independent. In 2009, Ryan moved to Atlanta, GA, where he instructed and arranged for the front ensemble of the Georgia Institute of Technology Yellow Jacket Band. While in Atlanta, Ryan also served as an instructor and arranger for Mabry Middle School, Lassiter High School, Centennial High School, and Allatoona High School. In 2012, Ryan moved back to his home state, taking a position at James E. Pearce College Preparatory Academy, a struggling middle school in Austin, TX. During his time there, he helped expand the band program and his band made the highest ratings in almost 10 years. He also founded Off the Left, a percussion group out of Austin, TX (currently known as Solstice Percussion), which performed at the Texas State Percussion Camp Concert in June of 2013 with guest artists Kari Klier and Murray Gusseck.

Ryan marched with the 2005 and 2006 Glassmen Drum & Bugle Corps, and in 2007 began his corps teaching experience as the quad tech for the Crossmen Drum & Bugle Corps. In 2008 and 2009, he took the percussion caption position at Memphis Sound, and later helped found Forte of Grand Prairie, TX in 2010. Later, Ryan worked with the Glassmen Drum and Bugle Corps as the Assistant Caption Head/Quad tech in 2011 and 2012. In addition to drum corps, Ryan served as front ensemble instructor for the WGI independent world group, Odyssey Percussion Theatre (Terminus Atlanta Percussion) (2010-2011) and the WGI World Class Finalist Gateway Independent (2012). He also played quads with the Atlanta Falcons Drumline from 2009 to 2012.

In addition to teaching, Ryan is an active composer and arranger. He has written for many programs in Texas, Mississippi, and Georgia. In addition to Innovative Percussion, Ryan is endorsed by Dynasty, Inc. as a Pro Artist, is an Honorary Member to the fraternity Kappa Kappa Psi Iota Chapter, and is a member of the Percussive Arts Society and Texas Music Educators Association. He lives in Houston with his wife, Dr. Katie Harper.
