Roland Hatcher is a conductor for the Chicago Children’s Choir, as well as a percussion educator currently residing in Orland Park, Illinois. He has taught concert and marching percussion in a handful schools across the Midwest, primarily in Central Ohio and the Southwest Suburbs of Chicago. He currently is the Director of Percussion for Amos Alonzo Stagg High School, in Palos Hills, Illinois, having previously held the same position at Hilliard Bradley High School, in Hilliard, Ohio.
Growing up in suburban Chicago, Roland studied under Grammy award winning percussionist Robert Dillon, of Third Coast Percussion, as well as Doug Bratt, of Moraine Valley Community College; he then went on to receive his Bachelor's degree in Music Education from Ohio State University, where he performed in many ensembles including the Symphonic Band, Jazz Ensemble, and Percussion Ensemble. Roland has also maintained a private studio throughout his time in Columbus, and continues to maintain a studio in the Chicagoland area.
