Interactive, responsive, spot-on, experimental, solid; just some of the adjectives others have used after performing with Phill.  He fuses his upbringing with his training, playing funky and soulful grooves within metrically complex rhythmic structures.  He maintains a busy schedule balancing private lessons, traveling with Jonathan Scales Fourchestra and performing as a freelance percussionist in:  restaurants, plays, operas, orchestras, concerts, events and festivals in Asheville, North Carolina.  He has shared the stage and/or album space with many great musicians including:  Jeff coffin, Felix Pastorius, Ben Sollee, Jeff Sipe, Del the Funky Homosapien, Futureman, Brian Tinkel, Andrew Barlow, Kernal Roberts, Toubab Crew, Yonrico Scott and Kofi Burbridge.
