Phil is currently performing with Recording Artist Brian Nutter,
guitarist w/ Keith Urban, and also performs with Recording Artist Paul Scott
and Jazz Recording Artist Tina Soloman. When he's not on the road, he can be
seen in venues and clubs around Nashville performing in artist showcases and
special events. 2013 is forecasted to include tour dates in the United States,

A Tulsa, Oklahoma native, Phil
began playing percussion at age 11. While attending Union High School in Tulsa,
OK (1988-1990), he was a member of the Renegade Regiment. The program won the
Oklahoma State Championship all three years. In addition, Union made two Finals appearances (1989 & 1990) in the Bands of
America® Grand National Championships and won the Bands of America® National
Indoor Marching Percussion Festival in 1989. During the 1990 season, Phil was a
member of Black Gold Drum & Bugle Corps. While playing in the snare line at
the age of 16, Black Gold placed in the Top 25 for the first time in World
Class (then, Open Class) at the Drum Corps International® World Championships.
Phil was accepted into The University
of North Texas and Middle Tennessee State University. He chose to enter the
Recording Industry Management program at MTSU to be close to the Nashville
music scene. During 1992-1993, Phil played in the Band of Blue Snare Line at
MTSU under the direction of Lalo Davila. Future performances and study were
exclusive to the drum set.
As
an artist, Phil has performed with an array of recording & performing
artists/ensembles with styles including Contemporary Jazz, Big Band Jazz,
Blues, Country, Contemporary Worship (including hundreds of worship services
with LifePoint Church), Rock and Pop and has performed throughout North America
and in Central America. As an educator, Phil has served as the Director of
Percussion for Smyrna High School in Tennessee and is a freelance private/group
instructor in the Nashville area for all areas of percussion.
Phil
currently plays Yamaha Drums, Sabian Cymbals, Evans Drumheads and uses
Innovative Percussion, Inc.® Sticks and Mallets, exclusively.
