Asst. Prof. Dr. Panus Tongkarnpanit developed an interest in drumming at the age of 13 and began his musical journey by joining the marching band at Wat Suthiwararam School during his secondary education. He later pursued formal studies in Percussion Performance at the Department of Music, Faculty of Humanities, Kasetsart University. During this period, he also served as an adjunct instructor at Bangkok Christian College and performed with the Kasetsart University Wind Symphony.   

Following his graduation in 2003, Dr. Tongkarnpanit received a scholarship from the Goethe-Institut to participate in the Percussion Bamboo project organized by the Asia-Europe Foundation in Vietnam. Subsequently, he was invited to serve as an adjunct lecturer at Phranakorn Rajabhat University and to contribute his expertise to both the Royal Thai Air Force Band and the Royal Thai Navy Band.   

In parallel with his academic engagements, he performed with several prominent ensembles, including the Thai Youth Orchestra (1998–2002), the Pan Asia Festival Orchestra (2002), and the Nontri Orchestra Winds (2009–2012). He also collaborated with Exotic Percussion and Luck Music Partner in the production of a percussion album and an instructional VCD titled Percussion Training, developed in association with Yamaha Thailand. 

In 2013, after earning his Master’s degree from Rangsit University, Dr. Tongkarnpanit was appointed as a lecturer at the College of Music, Bansomdejchaopraya Rajabhat University. He subsequently pursued doctoral studies at Chulalongkorn University, completing his Ph.D. in 2022. He is also an active percussionist with the Royal Bangkok Symphony Orchestra.
