Ondraus Cissell

Ondraus is from Louisville, Kentucky. He has had a love for music since before birth through his musical family. However, his love for marching percussion began as a freshman at Pleasure Ridge Park High School in the Marching Panther Band; marching four seasons. After graduation Ondraus marched three seasons in drum and bugle corps. Two with The Imperial Guard of Evansville, Indiana and one, aging out with Phantom Regiment of Rockford, Illinois. In college at the University of Louisville he was the quints section leader for four semesters; while also taking private lessons from Mr. James Rago, principal tympanist with The Louisville Orchestra.

As a marching percussion specialist Ondraus has worked with North Hardin High School, Radcliff, Kentucky. While there, North Hardin High School won three Kentucky Large Class State Championships, three Kentucky Music Educators Association Class 4A State Championships, two Contest of Champions Grand Championships, and one Contest of Champions Class A Championship. North Hardin High School was also a two-time finalist at the Bands of America Grand Championships and a Sudler Shield award winner. At Paul Laurence Dunbar High School in Lexington, Kentucky; two Contest of Champions Grand Championships and a Sudler Shield award. Both bands under the directorships of Mr. W. Dale Warren and Mr. Craig Cornish. 

Then at Beechwood High School, Fort Mitchell, Kentucky; two Kentucky Music Educators Association Class 2A State Championships under the directorship of Mr. Austin Bralley.

In the drum and bugle corps arena, Ondraus was an instructor with Phantom Regiment, and Northern Aurora of Saginaw, Michigan. Then on the collegiate level, Ondraus was the marching percussion specialist at Thomas More University in Crestview Hills, Kentucky. 

Ondraus has also instructed with many high schools in Kentucky, Indiana, and Tennessee, while also serving as a adjudicator and percussion advisory board member while working in various arenas including Kentucky Music Educators Association, Drum Corps International, Southeastern Color Guard Circuit, Middle Tennessee State University marching percussion clinic, Michigan Color Guard Circuit, Indiana State School Music Association, Indiana Percussion Association, Winter Guard International and the Percussive Arts Society. 

Ondraus is currently active as a marching percussion specialist in Kentucky and at IGNITE Performing Arts of Shelby County, Indiana.
