Drummer and musical director Nahshon Seville first stepped behind the drums at the tender age of three and has since made a career of that very place. Growing up in church, Nahshon became acutely aware of the spiritual element of music. He witnessed the transcendental power of song and rhythm and saw it as both duty and honor to use his gift to elevate an experience. Whether it was arranging the lights or learning to run sound and playback, as a self-taught artist, Nahshon worked diligently to create not only a moment, but an atmosphere.
Nahshon’s passion for music has made him a lifelong student of the craft. His continual study of all musical genres, spanning from jazz & Latin to pop & rock, has allowed Seville to become a “chameleon,” as he determined to learn and play all genres authentically. He credits this and his gospel roots for his ability to be a dynamic and intuitive musician.
Whether on the stage or in the studio, his attention to detail and “Forward Motion” mindset have instilled the importance of both being present and yet planning ahead in order to “push the song forward.”
Though a Jersey native, Nahshon quickly made his mark on the New York City music scene, regularly playing at some of the most notable music events and venues, including S.O.B.’s, Club Groove, Café Wha, Blue Note, and New York Fashion Week. He is also currently working with some of the top luxury event agencies worldwide, including Elan Artists and ALR Music.
Throughout his career, he has had the privilege of sharing the stage with esteemed artists such as Common, Jennifer Hudson, Christopher Williams, Donnie McKlurkin, Eric Roberson, Jackie Romeo, Austin Giorgio, & Alyson Williams (“First Lady of Def Jam”), to name a few.
Seville’s talent, versatility, and musical integrity have made him one of the most in-demand drummers in the tri-state area. Known for his precision, creativity, and leadership, he brings excellence to every stage and studio session. Grounded by the guidance of his mentors and driven by a deep commitment to the craft, Nahshon continues to evolve while inspiring those around him.
