Born in Toledo, Ohio, Louis began playing drums at the age of two, inspired by the artistry of his father—a respected drummer in the region. Surrounded by the sounds of Billy Cobham, Miles Davis, and Buddy Rich, Louis developed a deep foundation in both jazz and groove from an early age. He credits his father as his first major influence, alongside legends Dennis Chambers, Vinnie Colaiuta, and Ricky Lawson.
That foundation has propelled Louis into an accomplished career, performing and touring with some of the most celebrated names in music. His credits include Patti LaBelle, Ledisi, and Jeff Lorber, as well as extensive tours with Dwelé, Johnny Gill, Gladys Knight, and Rahsaan Patterson.
