Josh is a percussion educator and music arranger based in Southern California. His pedagogical focus is centered in the marching arts. In DCI, Josh performed with the Velvet Knights and went on to age out with the Sacramento Mandarins in 2013. In WGI, Josh performed with Dark Sky Percussion and aged out during the 2014 season; during this time, the percussion ensemble was promoted to world class—a momentous accomplishment for the organization. Josh has also performed with the San Diego State University Marching Aztecs, Wind Symphony, and Symphony Orchestra.
In addition to performance experience, Josh has taught and served as a clinician at several schools and music organizations in Southern California. Most notably, he has taught at the Watchmen Drum and Bugle Corps, Valhalla High School, and Carlsbad High School. Currently, Josh is the percussion caption head at Mission Hills High School in San Marcos, CA. Further, he actively teaches private lessons.
Josh holds a B.A. in Communication and a Minor in Classical Music from SDSU. He is presently in pursuit of an M.A. in Communication from SDSU.
