José “Majito” Aguilera was born in Acarigua, Venezuela and came to the United States to continue his career as a professional musician, after a 10-year stop in Spain.  Working as a successful percussionist there, he played for world-renown artists.  

Majito has performed and or recorded with many of the great Latin artists including Celia Cruz, Luis Enrique, Tito Nieves, Ruben Blades, Angeles Ruiz and many, many more. His debut solo release "Manos LIbres" is currently available, as well as his book, "New Approach for Afro-Latin Rhyhms in Contemporary Music".  

Majito is also a percussionist for the upcoming project "Unity: The Latin Tribute to Michael Jackson", along with another IP artist, Tony Succar.
