My name is Joey Mancaruso. I’m originally from the greater Los Angeles area, where I still have a band (Fili Bibiano’s Fortress) based out of.

I got my first set before I turned two years old, and I am one of four drummers in our family. My great uncle Anthony (Tony Caruso - stage name) Mancaruso who played with Lionel Hampton in the late ‘60s. And my father Glen Mancaruso, who played with Vengeance Rising and Die Happy in the late ‘80s to mid ‘90s.

Drums have always just, been there. If that makes any sense? It came as natural as breathing, and I’ve never known anything different. My first bands were in high school, and from there I kept playing well after I graduated. Some more notable gigs were with Robert Hecker of Redd Kross, via Moonlight Graham Records (Exene Cervenkan - X). I’ve recorded with Matt Hyde (Deftones/Behomoth/ASG/AFI/Seether), Steve Evetts (The Wonder Years/Suicide Silence/The Cure/Devil Driver/Symphony X/Misfits), Mic McMullen (Ronnie James Dio), and Rob Black of Light Black Studios.

I now currently play in Mace’n’Chain (Sweden - No Remorse Records), Fili Bibiano’s Fortress (USA - High Roller Records), Gravesword (USA/CA - No Remorse Records), Sanctuary International Worship Band (USA - Intense Worship Records), Warrior Lord, and Barren Cross.
