Since graduating from the University of Illinois in 2013 with a degree in Music Education, Jesse has been an active percussion instructor and arranger in the Chicago area. He has been the snare tech at Phantom Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps since 2014 and the battery coordinator and snare tech at Cavaliers Indoor Percussion since 2012. He is the percussion specialist and battery arranger at the 32 time BOA Grand National finalist Marian Catholic HS and the percussion director and marching percussion arranger at Batavia HS. He is also an active teacher and clinician with Northern Illinois University, Downers Grove North HS, Neuqua Valley HS, Elk Grove HS, and others around Chicagoland and is an adjudicator for the Illinois Music Educators Association.
His performance career includes a heavy background in marching percussion with membership in Green Thunder Percussion (2007-09), Colts Drum and Bugle Corps (2010), Gateway Indoor Percussion (2011), and The Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps (2011-13). In 2011, Jesse helped The Cavaliers acquire the Fred Sanford High Percussion Trophy. He spent his final season with The Cavaliers in the roles of both the snare drum section leader and drum sergeant and finished his career with the corps by performing as part of their clinic at the 2013 PAS International Convention. He has performed as a concert percussionist at the Midwest clinic and internationally in Germany and the Czech Republic.
Jesse has been influenced greatly by many fantastic educators and performers including Bret Kuhn, Alan Miller, Mike McIntosh,Brian Tinkel, Joe Roach, William Moersch, Ricardo Flores, Mark Dahl, Brayer Teague and Bill Miller.
