Jason Chafatelli is a versatile drummer and percussionist whose work spans national tours, regional theater, and concert stages across the U.S. Known for his energy, precision, and stylistic range, Jason brings a dynamic presence to every performance.
Equally at home in the pit or on the stage, Jason blends musical sensitivity with technical command—moving seamlessly between genres such as swing, funk, pop, and rock. He is currently touring with the Broadway National Tour of Chicago the Musical and has also performed in regional productions of Million Dollar Quartet, Rock of Ages, Sister Act, and Mamma Mia. He is known for his ability to lock in with ensembles, support storytelling from the drum chair, and adapt to the specific musical language of every production. Jason was also the drummer for the high-energy cover band The Electric Time Machine, performing at events and venues across the Southeast.
Jason studied percussion at Middle Tennessee State University under acclaimed educators Lalo Davila and Julie Davila, where he built a strong foundation in concert, marching, and drumset performance. He also completed the NYU Broadway Percussion Seminar, studying with some of New York’s top theater percussionists and gaining firsthand experience with the demands of professional musical theater.
Outside of performing, Jason is a passionate educator, offering instruction and mentorship to developing musicians in Nashville and beyond.
