Jakov Barrientos is a Native Texan. He was born and raised in Rio Grande City and graduated from Rio Grande City High School in 2012. He received a Bachelor’s of Music in Music Education from The University of Texas at Austin studying under Dr. Thomas Burritt and Tony Edwards. While at the University of Texas, he was a part of The Longhorn Band, Wind Ensemble, Wind Symphony, Symphony Orchestra, and the University of Texas Percussion Ensemble. Jakov performed with Rhythmic Force Percussion from 2013-2015. Jakov is an active member of TMEA, TBA, and PAS. Jakov is a current member of Cedar Park Winds. He has taught with numerous schools in Central and South Texas. He currently teaches at Bedichek Middle School in Austin, Texas.
