Jacob Kight (b. 1992) is a percussionist with the Ceremonial Brass, The United States Air Force Band, stationed at Bolling AFB, Washington D.C. Prior to joining the Air Force, he served as the Director of Percussion Studies at the University of South Florida where he taught private lessons for all percussion majors, directed the USF Percussion Ensemble, and taught the Percussion Techniques course for Music Education majors.

As an educator, Jacob has taught applied lessons and classes at every level (grade school to graduate students) and has worked with many influential educators in the percussion field, including Jeff Moore, Kirk Gay, Dr. Thad Anderson, and Dr. John W. Parks IV. In addition to his career in education, he performed regularly as a solo and chamber musician and was the principal percussionist of the Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra (2018-2020). Jacob also performed regularly with Sinfonia Gulf Coast of Destin, FL and is a founding member of the Patterns Quartet.

Fluent in audio and video recording technology, his projects have been distributed by Flying Horse Records, Garnet House Productions, and Ravello Records. Several of these opportunities have resulted in presentations at the Percussive Arts Society International Convention, PAS Days of Percussion, and the McCormick Marimba Festival.
Jacob holds a Doctor of Music degree and Master of Music degree in Percussion Performance from the Florida State University as well as a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education from the University of Central Florida. He is a proud Innovative Percussion artist and endorser.
