Justin Koszarek is the Assistant Director of Bands at Plainfield East High School and is a Percussion Educator for Innovative Percussion. He has been with Plainfield East High School (Plainfield, IL) since August 2010.
Mr. Koszarek received his Master’s of Music in Music Education from Northern Illinois University (DeKalb, IL) in 2012 and his Bachelor’s of Music in Composition (magna cum laude) from Bradley University (Peoria, IL) in 2005. Mr. Koszarek has taken conducting workshops Dr. Robert Rumbelow (University of Illinois), and Dr. Linda Morehouse (University of Illinois), studied composition and theory with Dr. Stephen Heinemann (Bradley University) and Dr. Nicholas Contorno (Marquette University), Music Theory Pedagogy with Dr. Edward Klonoski (Northern Illinois University), and Percussion Performance with Peggy Bonner (Peoria Symphony Orchestra and Bradley University). He has performed with the New Lenox Community Band, Peoria Municipal Band, Bradley University Symphonic Band under Dr. David Vroman, Knox-Galesburg Symphony under Maestro Bruce Polay, and the Marquette University Concert Band with Dr. Nicholas Contorno. Mr. Koszarek maintains active memberships in NAfME, IMEA, NBA, and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, Men’s Music Fraternity.
