George Sandler

George Sandler started playing drums in 6th grade and performed his first
professional gig at 13. He has worked all over the world with Sunday Drive, The
Mike Veal Band, Derek St. Holmes, Tom Grose & The Varsity, Lou’s Blues Revue,
Across The Wide, Confederate Railroad, Craig Wayne Boyd and T Graham Brown to
name a few. George studied music performance & education at Georgia State
University in Atlanta and studied privately with Jack Bell, former principal
percussionist with the ASO and Mark Yancich, principal timpanist with the ASO. He
was a member of Spirit of Atlanta drum & bugle corps when he was 16. He has
recorded with artists such as Mylon Lefevre, The Greenes, The Nelons, Taranda Greene,
Kori Spires (2020 Georgia Country Female Singer of the Year), Whitlee
Casey, Clint Brown, Jayna Jennings, Southbound, Naomi Sego, Tim Wilson & Seth
Condray. He was the house drummer and percussionist for the United Methodist
World General Conference in 2012 and served as the house drummer for the 2015
North Georgia Annual Conference. He served as a performer and clinician at the
Fellowship of United Methodists Music and Worship Arts Week in Lake Junaleska
from 2013 to 2015. George was also part of the music team that served at the
Georgia Pastors’ School at St. Simons in 2015.


George is a member of Fire Lake, a Bob Seger tribute band based out of Atlanta that
performs nationwide. He is also the percussionist for Mad Dogs & Southerners, a
tribute band that covers Joe Cocker, Leon Russell & Rita Coolidge from the Mad Dogs
& Englishmen album and tour. He is also a member of Groove 66 and freelances with
several bands in the metro Atlanta area including A1A (the original Jimmy Buffet
Tribute Band), The Mike Veal Band and the Cosmic Gypsies. He is also a part of the
production team at Tunedesigner.com that works with clients worldwide. George is
also part of the worship team at Mount Paran Church in Atlanta and Creekside
Church in Cumming GA. George has his own recording studio (The Sandbox) where
he regularly supplies clients drum and percussion tracks as well as custom
programming. George also enjoys playing drums & percussion as part of various
theatre orchestras for several drama groups in metro Atlanta. He has played for
productions of Kiss Me Kate, Godspell, Xanadu, Pippen, The Wizard of Oz, Mamma
Mia, Les Misérables and The Little Mermaid.
