Alexander Riggins, a visionary percussionist and dedicated music educator originally hailing from Houston, Texas, has carved a remarkable journey through the realms of music and education. A 2014 graduate of Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Alexander's educational journey laid the foundation for a career characterized by passion, innovation, and a commitment to musical excellence.

Following his graduation, Alexander returned to his roots in Houston where he embarked on a fulfilling career as a private lessons teacher. His expertise in percussion and infectious enthusiasm for sharing his musical knowledge led him to organize and host several drum clinics

across the Houston area. These clinics not only showcased his talent but also provided valuable insights to aspiring musicians, leaving an enduring impact on the local music community.

In pursuit of new horizons, Alexander made a pivotal move to Dallas, Texas, where he has served as the Associate Director of Bands at Cedar Hill High School and Percussion Director of the district since 2016. Within this role, Alexander has been instrumental in shaping the musical landscape of the school, elevating its music program to new heights of excellence. As a percussion arranger and composer for the marching arts, his innovative compositions have garnered widespread acclaim and accolades, enriching the musical repertoire of students and ensembles alike.

On a personal note, Alexander Riggins finds joy and inspiration in his family life. He is happily married and the proud father of two beautiful daughters, Ori and Phoenix, who undoubtedly serve as a driving force behind his passion for teaching and music.
