Greg Apple is Director of Percussion Studies at Presbyterian College in Clinton, South Carolina. He serves as director of the PC Percussion Ensemble and teaches applied percussion and percussion techniques. He is also Percussion Coordinator at Dutch Fork High School in Irmo, SC. Prior to his appointment at PC; he was Director of Percussion Studies/Assistant Director of Bands at Emporia State University in Emporia, Kansas. Apple was also Assistant Director of Bands/Percussion Coordinator for the DeSoto Independent School District in Desoto, Texas. He has also been a staff member for the University of North Texas Marching Percussion Camps. Prior to his tenure in Desoto, Apple taught privately at Marcus High School in Flower Mound, TX. He was also Assistant Director of Bands/Percussion Coordinator at Victoria High School in Victoria, TX. Mr. Apple holds a Bachelor of Music Education degree from East Carolina University and a Master of Music degree in percussion performance from Baylor University. His primary teachers included Mark Ford, Harold Jones and Larry Vanlandingham. Mr. Apple maintains an active schedule as a freelance percussionist and has presented various clinics and performances throughout the East Coast, Midwest and Texas areas. He has also been a percussionist with the Tar River, Waco, Victoria, Augusta and Florence Symphonies.
