David Pelaggi earned a Bachelor of Science in Music Education at Western Connecticut State University in 2016. He is currently attending Texas Tech University to attain his Masters in Music Education. During his time at WCSU, he studied with percussionists Dave Smith and Doug Perry. During this time, David has shared the stage with the likes of Pius Cheung, Dave Samuels, Joe McCarthy, and others.
From 2012-2016 David was a percussion instructor for the Norwalk High School Percussion Ensemble. During this time, the group was awarded two recognized as a top 3 group in the Winter Guard International World Championships. David also taught the Naugatuck High School Percussion Ensemble in 2017. This group was recognized throughout the percussion ensemble and Phish community with their performance of their arrangement of “Divided Sky.” David has worked with many percussion ensembles across the state. David has served on the staff of the Connecticut Hurricanes Drum and Bugle Corps.
David Pelaggi is currently the Director of Bands and Orchestra at JOnathan Law High School in Milford, CT. Prior to his current position, he was the Music Director at Putnam High School in Putnam, CT. During his time in Putam, he tripled enrollment in ensemble performance and created a music technology course centered on the flipped classroom. David is very happy to be teaching in Milford and is excited to help his students be the best musicians they can be.
