Colton Bean began his music career in San Antonio, TX where he attended Robert E. Lee High School. He graduated 2016 from Texas State University where he received his Bachelor of Music in Music Studies.
During his time at Texas State, Colton was actively involved in Percussion Ensemble, Symphonic Winds, and the Symphony Orchestra. Outside of Texas State, Colton participated in Drum Corps/WGI from 2012-2015. His Drum Corps experience includes marching for the 2012 Revolution Drum & Bugle Corps, the 2013 Genesis Drum & Bugle Corps and the 2014-2015 Crossmen Drum & Bugle Corps where he aged out as the 2015 Percussion Captain. He has also marched in various indoor groups in the central Texas area including the Texas State WGI ensemble in 2012, Imperial Percussion Theater in 2013, and Teatro Indoor Percussion in 2014.
Colton has spent the past few years teaching various central Texas ensembles, most recently with the Winston Churchill High School percussion program, and 5points Percussion, an independent open class ensemble in San Antonio, TX.
Beginning in Fall 2017, Colton will be the Assistant Band Director/Percussion Director for John Marshall Harlan High School, a program located in Northside ISD in San Antonio, TX. This will be the inaugural year for the school and its band program.
