Christopher Michael performs and records in a wide variety of genres. He currently serves as timpanist and percussionist with the Lebanese Philharmonic, and teaches drum set and percussion at the Lebanese National Conservatory. Before moving to the Middle East, his performing and recording career included over a decade in New York on the Jazz and Latin American scenes. Previously, Christopher had worked with the Dallas Opera, Ballet Dallas, and Dallas Wind Symphony while earning his M.M. from the prestigious University of North Texas. He also holds a B.M. from Capital University. Christopher has performed and lectured in the US, Europe, South America, and throughout the Middle East. He has contributed several articles for Percussive Notes. Christopher's teachers have included Robert Breithaupt, Ed Soph, Peter Retzlaff, Portinho, Chris Allen, Kalman Cherry, Brad Wagner, Doug Howard, Tom Stubbs, Leigh Howard Stevens, She-e Wu, Joche Plata, Rafael Castro, Juan Medrano Cotito, and Jim Chapin.
