Anthony Jackson is originally from Spring, Texas and graduated from Klein High School. Upon graduation in 2008, Anthony decided to apply/audition for the music program at Texas A&M University-Commerce. He is now a proud alumnus to TAMUC after graduating cum laude with a B.A. in Music Education in the spring of 2013. While at the university, Anthony served as the TAMUC Brazilian Ensemble director, TAMUC Assistant Percussion Ensemble Director, TAMUC Pride Marching Band Drum Captain, TAMUC Percussion Association President, marched DCI from 2009-2011 in the Cavaliers Drum & Bugle Corps (aging out as co-drum captain of the 2011 Fred Sanford Award), and held membership in the Alpha Chi National Honors Society.

Currently, Anthony is an Assistant Band Director at Bear Branch Junior High in Magnolia, Texas specializing in percussion across the cluster. Additionally, from 2013 to 2015 Anthony assisted with the Boston Crusaders Drum & Bugle Corps as a front ensemble technician. In 2012, Anthony also served as an assistant front ensemble technician to the Crossmen Drum & Bugle Corps. As of recent, Anthony (alongside Chris Nadeau and their duo CAn-Duo), won the Collegiate Duo division of the Southern California Marimba Competition.

Anthony would like to dedicate his career to the teachers who influenced his journey, including (but not limited to) the following individuals: Brian Callahan, Dr. Brian Zator, Erik Johnson, Brian Delsignore, Clark Gardner, Dr. Brian Tinkle, Matthew Coley, Tom Burritt, Paul Rennick, Mike McIntosh, Maraca Two, Jonathan Ovalle, Alan Miller, Jim Casella, and many others. Anthony’s philosophy is a balance of the three essential parts these individuals have ingrained into him: powerful performance, genuine enjoyment, and lifelong learning.
