Adam Cowger (www.adamcowger.com) is currently an adjunct professor of
music at Joliet Junior College where he directs the percussion ensemble and
teaches applied percussion. Additionally, Adam teaches courses in American
music history and applied percussion at Moraine Valley Community College
and operates a private studio with students from the Lincoln-Way and
Wheaton-Warrenville school districts. He is also active as a marching
percussion instructor and clinician.

As a freelance artist in the Chicago area, Adam has performed with the Elgin
Symphony Orchestra, Northwest Indiana Symphony, and the New
Philharmonic. He also performs regularly on drumset with the tribute band
25 or 6 to 4. In addition, Adam performed at the 2007 Percussive Arts
Society International Convention, the 2005 and 2003 Montreux Jazz
Festivals, and the 2004 South by Southwest Music Festival. Adam can be
heard on Liam Teague and Robert Chappell’s recent CD Open Window.

Adam holds a master’s degree from Northern Illinois University and a
bachelor’s degree from the University of North Dakota, both in percussion
performance. His principal teacher’s include Michael Blake, Rich Holly,
Robert Chappell, Greg Beyer, and Rodrigo Villanueva. He is a member of
the Percussive Arts Society and Pi Kappa Lambda. Adam is proud to
