Aaron West

Aaron is an active music educator and performer in his hometown of Dayton, Ohio. He attended Carroll High School in Dayton under the study of Carl Soucek.  Aaron obtained his bachelor degree in music education from Miami University in 2011 under the study of Dr. William Albin and Dr. Chris Tanner. He graduated magna cum laude. During his time at Miami, Aaron was active in a variety of performance ensembles ranging from marching to concert to non-western groups. As a member of the Global Rhythms Ensemble, under the direction of Srinivas Krishnan, Aaron had the pleasure of touring with world renowned and highly decorated artists such as Jeff Queen and Valerie Naranjo. Aaron was a member of the Independent World WGI group, Matrix Indoor Marching Percussion Ensemble in 2009.

Since graduating from Miami, Aaron has worked with a multitude of area marching bands and percussion ensembles including Bellbrook, Carroll, Mason, Kettering Fairmont, and East Clinton high schools.  He currently serves as the percussion director for Bellbrook High School who won the Class A championship at the 2013 Bands of America Grand National Championships.  He currently resides in Kettering, Ohio.
