Wenjia Xu,currently an active percussionist, Vice President of Zhejiang percussion association,Members of the board of International Percussion education association,as the invited percussion soloist of the Shanghai percussion ensemble, Jury of the IPEA Percussion Competition,Majestic Artist,His performance from the baroque period to modern  pioneer music .In 2015 began his study in Konzert Examen Solist Degree in Germany Hannover to date and since 2015 works at Zhejiang Conservatory of music as a percussion teacher.

He first studied western percussion at the age of ten.  Xu graduated from Music Mid-dle School affiliated to Shanghai Conservatory of Music in 2008  by Gao Hua. Then, he completed his Bachelor studies at Modern Instruments and Percussion Department of Shanghai Conservatory of Music in 2012,S Solo percussion and Chamber Music by Professor Yang Ruwen. Besides, he selected course of Chinese percussion by Pro-fessor Luo Tianqi, orchestra studies by Professor Zhou Xiong, as well as Chinese opera percussion from Teacher  Zhu Lei . Xu Wenjia graduated from Hochschule  für Musik Theater und Medien Hannover in 2015, achieved a master degree and With full score 1.0, becoming the first Chinese percussionist who have the full score grad-uate since the university was established. During that period, he was studied by Prof. Andreas Boettger , Erich Trog, Principal Timpanist of German Symphony Orchestra, Guido Marggrander, percussion performer of Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, and Hilko Schomerus, popular rhythm educator. In the same year, he was admitted as Konzert Examen Solist by Hochschule für Musik Theater und Medien Hannover , be-coming the second Solist (Konzert Examen) student in percussion Performance  since the university was established in 1897.

Acting as chief percussion and principal timpanist, Xu Wenjia joined China’s state banquet and Shanghai Spring International Music Festival several times. Additionally, he attended concert series of Chinese all art  university in the Grand National Theater. Moreover, Xu participated in Danish Pavilion and Danish Royal Academy of Music at EXPO, during which he had interview with Sina.com and made publicity online. Xu Wenjia attended the annual meeting of Chiayi International Wind Music, and was warmly welcomed by mayor of Chiayi and highly praised by local media. Besides, he joined percussion performance amid World Expo Music Festival. In addition, he took part in symphony, multimedia animation and Beijing Opera symphony The White La-dy’s Love Seasons which were produced and launched by Shanghai Conservatory of Music, becoming the key recommendation of the Shang Expo. He also cooperated with Tokyo Opera and Ballet Troupe to dance the ballet GISELLE.

From 2004 to 2017 years ,he was selected as one of Sino-German cultural ambassadors to Germany for music exchange and performance. Moreover, he traveled with the Shanghai Percussion Ensemble to visit France and Performance. He won the Third Prize  at the professional group in the Second National Percussion Competition in Shanghai, Gold Prize at ensemble group in the Fourth National Percussion Competition in Shanghai and the Second Prize at Shanghai Civilization Etiquette Contest. During study in Germany, he participated in Hanover New Modern Ensemble, and completed almost 30 performances. Since joining Hanover Percussion Ensemble, he’s been attending public performances and works were involved in different periods, which were highly appraised by local newspapers, magazines as well as audience. He was therefore known as “the most brilliant performer in the new generation”.
