Chris DeBerry is a graduate of Middle Tennessee State University, where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education.  While at MTSU, he studied under Lalo and Julie Davila, Derrek Phillips, German Baratto, and Paul Garretson.  He performed with the MTSU Steel Bands, Salsa Band, Percussion Ensembles, Orchestra, Symphonic Band, and Wind Ensemble.

His educational experience includes arranging, judging, and working with high school and middle school percussion groups in the Mid-TN area. Beyond working with middle and high school groups, he has been on educational staff with drumlines competing in WGI.  He is also involved with DCI, teaching at Glassmen and currently with Music City Drum Corps. 

Other performance accomplishments were gained through participation in Music City Mystique on snare from 2002 through 2005.  He has also performed with the Nashville Jazz Orchestra, on-stage with Jeff Coffin and Chris Tanner, competed in the PASIC College Small Ensemble division, and performed a marching percussion clinic with the MTSU Drumline at PASIC.
