IP Performing and Educational
Artist Michael Eagle of New York City, NY recently completed a 5 week tour of
Europe and the UK. The extended overseas trip involved various music festivals,
clinics, workshops and performances in France, England, The Netherlands,
Germany and Switzerland. The diverse array of presentations covered most of the
major styles of rudimental drumming worldwide including Traditional American
(Fife & Drum), Contemporary American (DCI), Scottish Pipe Band, and
Swiss/Basel Drumming. Other highlights included performing with IP
Artist Ensemble Bagad Cap
Caval for their 2017 Championship performance at Brest, France as well
Fasnacht, which is Switzerland's traditional Carnival.
"There is something
brewing among rudimental drummers across the globe right now. Many players from
many different genres and communities are beginning to connect perhaps like
never before in the spirit of learning and sharing their respected traditions
of drumming and music. It's a very exciting thing to witness, and I am beyond
humbled that so many different communities in another part of the world would
be so welcoming and just as eager to learn from me as I was from them."
