Drummers at the University being exposed to related instruments, marimba and vibes, and their harmonic and melodic possibilities. Phase 1 (two days/6hrs each): introduction & history, four mallet technique, simple chord progressions/basic comping aspects, basic aspects of phrasing for single-note play, overview of practicing possibilities/materials.
