Thomas (Ted) Leith

Centerville High School

Thomas Edward Leith, Jr., Ted, showed an aptitude and love of all things percussion at an early age. His dad was his first drum set and snare drum teacher starting at age four. Private lessons and high school and college band prepared him for the challenge and excitement of playing snare in DCI’s Oregon Crusaders (2006), and the Cavaliers (2007, 2008). His love of competition, drumming and entertainment continued to grow and was enhanced as he performed in WGI’s Rhythm X from 2007-2010. Ted coupled his love of traveling with drumming as he played and toured with Aimachi Marching Band (2008) based in Nagoya, Japan and Top Secret Drum Corps (2008-2010) based in Basel, Switzerland. During the 2009 summer season, Ted performed in the entertainment percussion group “Riptide” at SeaWorld San Diego.

Ted moved to Ohio to assume the position of battery tech for the 2010 season of the Miami University-Ohio marching band and was the percussion instructor with Redline Independent World Class Percussion Ensemble based in Canton, MI during the 2010 WGI season. Also in 2010, Ted became the Percussion Caption Head and a private instructor for Citrus Family Project, sponsored by Dynasty, traveling and  working in Bangkok, Thailand.

Currently, Ted is the Director of Percussion at Centerville High School (Centerville, Ohio) and Battery Coordinator for the Miami University Band program (Oxford, Ohio).
