Stephen Bott is a versatile drummer, percussionist, and educator. After a B.M.E. from Central Michigan University, where he was the recipient of the Grant Skomski Percussion Scholarship, Stephen moved to Boulder, Colorado, where he is currently teaching (Center for Musical Arts, Boulder Music Studio, Rhythm Compass, Reverb Lessons, and local public schools), gigging (Ravinwolf, Boulder Symphony), and finishing up a master's degree in percussion performance at the University of Colorado, Boulder, where he was a recipient of the Nancy and Ted Anderson Music Award. He takes a special interest in collaborating with composers and promoting new percussion music.
Stephen is happy to teach all ages, interests, and abilities. He starts with "repeat after me" style exercises to develop basic technique, coordination, and a musical tone on the instrument. Then, he works with the student on playing along with the music they love!
Stephen also endorses Majestic concert and Mapex marching percussion.
