Larry Mathis received both his M.S. and B.S. from the Julliard School of music, where his teachers included Saul Goodman, Morris Goldenberg, Fred Hinger, and William Schinstine. He has performed with the New York Philharmonic, City Symphony of New York, Alabama Symphony, Tuscaloosa Symphony and the Pottstown Symphony. Mr. Mathis was the Principal percussionist and teacher at the Brevard Music Center from 1988-1989 and has served on the University of Alabama faculty since 1969.
