Charles Fricker is a tireless advocate for the percussive arts as both a performer and educator. As a performer Charles is the Principal Percussionist for both the nationally recognized 36th Infantry Division Band in Austin, TX and the Brazosport Symphony Orchestra in Lake Jackson, TX. Charles is an active freelance percussionist playing drum set and percussion in area orchestras, churches, jazz and cover bands. He was recognized as an Outstanding Military Musician when he received the “Colonel Finley Hamilton Award in 2010.” He was a finalist in the 2001 Percussive Arts Society Performance Contest, and received the Bronze Star for his educational outreach and military service while deployed to Basrah, Iraq. As an educator Charles holds the position of Adjunct Percussion Instructor with Brazosport College in Lake Jackson, TX. He is also Director of Elementary Music at Rancho Isabella Elementary School in Angleton, TX. Charles has a large private studio and clinics for various summer music camps in the Austin and Houston, TX areas. Charles Fricker can be heard on many NFL Films soundtracks, most notably the Emmy Award winning soundtrack, “A Century of NFL.” He can also be heard on Dr. Eugene Koshinski’s latest solo CD, “Layers.” Charles is a proud endorser for Innovative Percussion.
